Pretty Pretty Pictures

It's almost 10pm on a Saturday night. I just drove the 180 mile round trip back from Santa Barbara from the rehearsal for a wedding I have tomorrow and I just printed out the paperwork. And had a glass of wine. And found that Justin & Caitie's May 3 wedding pictures are up on the photographer Lukas Van Dyke's blog. They're gorgeous and they make me smile. Enjoy!


And now I need to go to bed so I can handle the 2 hour drive and 12 hours on my feet tomorrow. Happy Memorial Day, everyone!

YouTube Tuesdays: Made of Honor

Yes, I saw Made of Honor. No, I am not ashamed to admit that. I love sappy romantic comedies ESPECIALLY if they have pretty weddings, pretty places, and pretty people. This movie had weddings, Scottish moores & castles, and Patrick Dempsey. It doesn't get any better that that for my $12.00. (well, it does, but Sex and the City the movie just hasn't opened in the theaters yet)

Wedding Season!

It's official. My wedding season has begun! As much as I love wrapping up a good wedding and putting that baby to bed, I honestly miss my clients when they are gone. It's kind of funny to see how O.V.E.R. IT a bride is the day after her wedding. On to new things--honeymoons, houses, vacations, babies, etc.

Last Saturday I had the privilege of coordinating Justin & Caitie's wedding for 300 guests at the First Christian Church of North Hollywood (Phyllis' Wedding from The Office was filmed there!) and the reception at the Masonic Temple in Pasadena. I can't wait to see the pictures from this one. Many of their friends and family from church pitched in and helped decorate the church and the ballroom and Caitie's mom Debbie put Martha to shame with the handmade and stunning invitations, programs, escort cards, and decorated candy jars. I don't think she slept through their whole engagement!! The reception had a vintage feel to it with pearl neclaces & satin gloves as part of the centerpieces and a wonderful swing band Jonathan Stout and his Campus Five . A friend taught a swing dance lesson and the guests were so enthusiastic about the it that they spilled off the dance floor and started pushing back the tables. Now that is what I call a good time!

We sent Justin and Caitie off to their honeymoon through an arch of sparklers. Congratulations, you two, it was a beautiful day full of love and I will miss you!

A big fat THANK YOU to my assistants Barb, Erin, Lina and Yuka for all of your hardwork--I could not have done it without you!

This is what your wedding vendors do on Monday

Saturday we work your wedding, Sunday we meet with potential and current clients, and Monday we party and compare battle stories....I mean, network with other wedding vendors. It takes a special type of person to be a wedding vendor. We love what we do. If we didn't, we would work corporate events and make more money! (so I've heard)

I decided to use my nifty little iPhone to blog last night's Association of Bridal Consultants April networking event at the Riviera Country Club in the Pacific Palisades.

Hmmm, not sure if my outfit was "proper", but I sure thought it was cute...

The event was held in the Crystal Ballroom at the Riviera Country Club'. The Riviera just finished up some renovations and they were a wonderful host to our group. The food was good and the bar was open. Always a good thing. Entertainment was provided by Leonard Neil Productions and Scott Topper Productions. Leonard can provide musical acts from string trios up to 40 piece orchestras. Scott Topper is a very well known LA DJ who has also just added a photo booth to his company services.

I like to see what people are posting in the event services section on Craisglist as I've stumbled across a few gems (UCLA music students performing as a string quartet at affordable prices, etc) and today when I was browsing around I laughed out loud so many times. Maybe my funny bone is primed today? I don't know, but these cracked me up!!!
