Post Wedding Survey: Allison & Danny

The adorable Allison took some time to fill out my post wedding survey and I'm excited to share. Doesn't that photo above just make you smile? Me too.

    Q. What was the best part of your wedding day?
    A. The best part was our first dance and the dance set afterwards.  Everyone was around us, dancing and singing and you could really feel the love.

    Q. What do you feel was totally unnecessary?
    A. Nothing!

    Q. What would you change, if anything?
    A. We would have eaten more, we picked out such delicious food and barely enjoyed it.  And we would have like to have a better speaker/sound set up, the speeches during the wedding were pretty mumbled, but that’s to be expected in such a large echo-y venue like Vibiana. **

    Q. What was unexpected that you loved?
    A. Danny is pretty wild and I guess he signaled our guests to stand up and start cheering when he walked down the aisle, so when I walked down the aisle with my parents everyone was standing and cheering and whistling, it was a lot of fun and felt like love all around.

    Q. What are your fondest memories of your wedding day?
    A. Signing the ketubah with just immediate family and close friends, it was causal and special at the same time.  The first dance and dance set afterwards were magical, and walking from Vibiana back to Kyoto chanting the room number of the after-party with all out friends was surely a moment in time.

    Q. Is there anything you wish you had spent more time or money on?
    A. nope!
    Q. Is there anything you wish you had spent less time or money on?
    A. nope!

    Q. Were there any unexpected surprises or issues?
Some issues were the sound, and how it was pretty unbalanced, but that’s hard to fix in a big place like vibiana.

    Q. What's your number #1 tip for future engaged couples?
    A. After hiring Amber… just try to plan the best wedding for you and your fiancĂ©.  Not every guest (especially parents) will agree on what music or food should be present, as long as it’s the what the bride and groom love, the happiness carries through and everyone gets that and has a wonderful time.

    Q. How did you feel after the wedding?
    A. To be honest – relieved.  After 13 months of intensive planning its nice to have had the most beautiful wedding and know that it went perfectly and I don’t have to worry/plan anymore, just now have to practice with “wife” and “husband”, that’s going to take a bit.

**A note from Amber: the acoustics at Vibiana are definitely challenging!  It is a huge, open space made up of entirely hard surfaces with a vaulted ceiling that makes sound bounce around like nothing else. For Allison & Danny's wedding we had a special sound system wired in that helps immensely with the sound coming through the speakers, but the sound of 300 people talking at the same time gets extremely loud in there!
